Suspect in Shooting Near Austintown Restaurant Identified

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — Authorities have identified 23‑year‑old Mikklo I. Delgado of Youngstown in connection with a shooting incident near an Austintown restaurant, local law enforcement and court records confirm.

Delgado was arrested and charged with multiple serious offenses, including attempted murder, felonious assault, aggravated robbery, and improperly discharging a firearm, all connected to the shooting that took place on December 3, 2025, at an apartment complex in Austintown near a restaurant area.

During the incident, police said two victims were injured when gunfire erupted in the hallway of the apartment building at 1001 Compass West Drive. One victim was taken by ambulance in critical condition, while the other was transported by a private vehicle and listed in stable condition.

Delgado appeared in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, where his attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf, and a $500,000 bond was upheld by the presiding magistrate.

If convicted on all counts, Delgado faces decades in prison given the severity of the charges. Investigators continue to review evidence and witness testimony as the case progresses through the legal system.
