Franyelin Annabel Pires Reyes Shooting Obituary, Death; Woman Killed in Domestic Shooting, Husband in Custody

The tragic death of Franyelin Annabel Pires Reyes has left a community in mourning following a fatal domestic shooting that occurred on April 6, 2026. Authorities confirmed that the incident took place inside a residence on Eaglesmere Drive, where the victim was found with a gunshot wound.

According to police reports, officers responded to calls of gunfire around 1:38 p.m. in the 4900 block of Eaglesmere Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered Pires Reyes critically injured. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators identified the suspect as Himber Alexander Rivero Romero, the victim’s husband. Authorities say he remained at the residence after the shooting and contacted law enforcement. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Orange County Jail.

Preliminary findings indicate that although the couple had recently separated, they were still living together at the time of the incident. Officials revealed that the victim had reportedly begun a new relationship, which may have contributed to escalating tensions and disputes between the pair in the days leading up to the tragedy.

Law enforcement officials also confirmed that both individuals had crossed into the United States near Eagle Pass in September 2023 and had pending asylum claims. An immigration detainer has since been placed on Rivero Romero.

The suspect now faces a first-degree murder charge as authorities continue their investigation. Officials have urged anyone with additional information to come forward to assist with the ongoing case.
